When you go into labour I will be ready to join you as and when you need me and I will stay with you until after your baby is born. I’ll leave when you are settled and feel ready for me to do so.
My support during your birth will be led by you. I do not provide medical advice but I’ll be on hand to offer emotional and physical support, comfort measures including breath work and massage and practical support including preparing the birthing space, liaising with midwives and medical staff if in attendance, keeping you well nourished throughout, capturing your birth on camera if you wish, post-birth clean up and so on. Support during labour looks different for everyone; we can discuss how you would like me to support you during our birth preparation sessions.
Two 2 hour postpartum sessions to check in and see how you’re doing. We can reflect over your birth experience & I’ll be on hand to offer feeding support, discuss self-care options and newborn care.
Fees & support options can be discussed during our connection call.
Freya, First Time Mama, Freebirth
“Sophia has a reassuring and genuine belief in natural birth and a woman's ability to stay in tune with her instincts. She helped us consider what space would work best for us and what questions we needed to consider in preparation so that we could write a birth plan that suited us and that we felt confident in. She was absolutely crucial for this as we did find the risk adverse maternity service difficult to navigate as we were determined to have an undisturbed home birth.
Sophia's knowledge and guidance made our plan feel possible despite it being against nhs guidelines.”
